Launched on the 11th of December, 2020, Supfrica is just a messenger application like whatsapp.
Supfrica is created by an African, Hafiz Alhassan-Kanu, from Sierra Leone.
Following the shocking update announcement from WhatsApp, people started to find alternatives for the most popular messenger.
Other messenger applications such as Signal and Telegram have surged and gotten more downloads over the past few days.
Supfrica too increased popularity and has amassed up to 19,000 downloads.
I’ve read some reviews which stated that the app is much more faster than WhatsApp.

Supfrica Founder
The messenger app is owned by a parent technology company known as TechFrica.
TechFrica started operations in 1998, created by Al-Hassan Hafiz Bakarr-Kanu at age 21.
When he was in college, he wanted to create nightlife events for the African community.
He ended up creating his first company called Mama Africa Productions in 1998 and then established Club Mama Africa which was rebranded as Club Afrik in 2002.

The messenger app was created with the same (but some better) features than that of whatsapp.
- Video and Voice calls are faster, audible and cheaper.
- You can forward messages to up to 20 contacts at a time.
- You can create a group and add unlimited number of members (which beats whatsapp which is limited to 257 members per group)
- Accepts 2G, 3G and 4G without scrambled voice or video calls.
- You can update and view contacts statuses/stories
- Reportedly 2X faster than Whatsapp.
- Sending message here is faster than sending message on whatsapp.

Contacts: to be able to communicate with your Friends that are in your Contacts Camera: to be able to Take Pictures/ Videos and to be able to make Video Calls.
Microphone: to be able to send Voice Messages and also to be able to make Voice/ Video Calls.
Storage: To save the Sent/ Received Files in your Device Cookies Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers.
These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory.
This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly.

It’s made by an African and I love it for that but if Supfrica wants to at least be a competitor, there are lots of work to be done.
